The enclosed swim stadium is designed to accommodate the four Olympic aquatics sports with a permanent seating capacity of 5,000 which is expandable to 10,000 seats, making it capable of hosting World/Olympic standard competitions, as well as local, regional, national and other international events.
The facilities include a 70 meter x 25 meter pool with a 2-1/2 meter bulkhead, allowing for every variety of field-of-play dimensions for the four aquatic sports. Spectator seating is oriented to view the pool and diving activities with the Pacific Ocean as a backdrop. Support facilities for hosting competitions, including TV, press, spectator and athlete services, are plugged into the sides of the building and under the permanent seating.
The building incorporate "green" design elements such as the use of co-generation for electricity and hot water, natural ventilation, and other energy-saving devices.
