Silverado Aquatic Center
Long Beach CA

The renovation of this existing aquatic facility built in the 1960's, involves both aesthetic and functional upgrades. A new pool configuration and water play area was designed to better accommodate a variety of community needs. Added windows with water play cutout screens, bring excitement to the facade and provide natural light to the interior. A sky metaphor is created with improved skylights and sculptural acoustical tiles set against the background of the exposed roof structure. The enhanced color scheme will help to animate the building's interior and exterior. This project is a feasibility study.
