The unmatched beauty of the desert environment juxtaposed to the free flowing chilled waters of the Colorado River provides the impetus for the destination resort design approach. The elevated wedge shaped design provides maximized views of the river and encourages ground floor shaded outdoor activities. Water features flow throughout the resort to reinforce the riverside location of the hotel. Special attention is given to the sun orientation on each side of the buildings by utilizing various horizontal overhangs and vertical fin shade devices. This provides for an energy efficient and cooler interior environment without obstructing the views. The bingo facility tucked under one of buildings provides players access to the numerous amenities of the newly created social spaces.
